A heart attack at age 70 turned Dorothy Greet’s life upside down and led her to study and teach about the health and environmental benefits of plant-based eating. Now, with a Cornell Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition, this retired clergywoman has written an online course JOURNEY TO WELLNESS , a book GO VEG WITH CLASS, blogs about her journey at THE CAPE GAZETTE, teaches free classes to community groups and serves on the Board of VegRehoboth.
Recently retired from the state of Delaware after 30 years as a teacher with a master’s in special education and a bachelor’s in philosophy, Rich decided to get involved in the wellness field after going 100% plant based almost five years ago at age 53.
He credits his health and wellness to his WFPB Lifestyle and his wife introducing him to the Rich Roll podcast from which he learned about everything WFPB and the doctors who promote it.
His mantra: Sleep Well Eat Well Move Well Feel Well, Connect with Nature, Self and Others, Let’s Save the World with Plants (He has a wellness coaching start-up, ReviveTheFuture part of SEMF Enterprises LLC)
He currently lives in Lewes, DE with his wife Tania, their Golden Retriever, Callie and two cats Bella and Shadow. Their son Steven serves in the US Coast Guard, and their daughter, Victoria, visits weekly with her baby girl Izabella.
Aysha Akhtar, M.D., M.P.H., is the co-founder and CEO of the Center for Contemporary Sciences, (CCS) which is pioneering the transition to replace the use of animals in experimentation with more effective human-relevant testing methods and reduce the risks of pandemics and other human health threats by tackling root causes. A military veteran, she is a double-board certified neurologist and preventive medicine specialist, with a background in public health. Aysha is a Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics. She is the author of the two books, Our Symphony With Animals, On Health, Empathy and Our Shared Destinies and Animals and Public Health, which argues for the need for health institutions to include animals as part of the “public” in public health. Aysha is a TEDx speaker.
Chef Hari Cameron stands as a distinguished culinary consultant and celebrated chef, renowned for his innovative culinary approach and the numerous accolades that adorn his illustrious career. Originating from a profound passion for diverse cuisines, his journey has seamlessly evolved into a leadership role, making him an influential figure in the realm of culinary arts. Hari has been a staple of VegRehoboth events since our first VegFest in 2013, at our VegWinterFests, and our ThanksLiving dinners. This year, Hari will present a plant-based “no waste” cooking demo.
Suzanne Thurman is the founder and director of the Marine Education, Research & Rehabilitation Institute, Inc. (MERR). MERR was founded in 2000 to provide rescue and response services for stranded marine mammals and sea turtles occurring in DE. In addition to stranding response, MERR also contributes to conservation and research for these endangered species, and provides education programs to students and the general public. Now in its 22nd year, the award-winning non-profit organization has provided stranding response for nearly 4,000 animals, and served more than 200,000 people with their education programs.

As a former restauranteur and executive chef, Lisa has worked with numerous restaurants on the inclusion of vegan options, “veganizing” hundreds of recipes for her clients.
Lisa is also the producer for the award winning film The Next Girl.
With over 30 years of event production experience, Lisa is bringing the Planet Series Events to the DC, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware areas in 2024.
