VegFest set for June 9th

Registration is now open for Sponsors and Exhibitors!

VegRehoboth will be holding the 6th annual celebration of plant-based living: Rehoboth Beach VegFest, at Epworth United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 9, from 11-4.  This feast/fare/marketplace continues to grow each year as one of the premier plant-based events in Delaware.  All are welcome, from seasoned vegans/vegetarians to those exploring the benefits and possibilities of a plant-based lifestyle.  There is no charge for attendance; the first 200 attendees receive a goody bag full of samples and coupons.

Each year, Rehoboth Beach VegFest follows an exciting format.   Welcoming the many vendors as the crowd begins to grow, sorting out spaces, welcoming speakers, savoring the delicious aromas wafting out of the cooking arena.  An exciting line-up of speakers is being arranged, headlined by Rehoboth’s own Chef Hari Cameron, owner of both a(muse) and grandpa MAC and a long-time friend of VegRehoboth and VegFest.  The Healing Arts Village, which features yoga, massage therapists, naturopathic physician, Kim Furtado, energy healer Sue Greer, and several other alternative health practitioners will again be available during the day for consultation and demonstration.  The Kids’ Tent, sponsored by the Sussex YMCA, will have exciting activities for the children, and the Music Tent will feature returning musicians Alex Razze, Buntopia, and Evangelina Guarjado.  Exhibitors include artisans, incredible food, and many local and national non-profits, such as the MERR Institute (Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute).  If the weather permits, there will be adoptable animals seeking their “forever” homes. VegFest is enlightening, inspiring, and the crowd is filled with enthusiastic and compassionate people:  it’s a day and a weekend dedicated to thinking differently about how we eat and how we care for our planet.

The whole weekend of June 8-10 is full of VegFest activities, from the Friday night film-screening, to the art opening Saturday night at Gallery 50 featuring cutting edge artists with a plant-based sensitivity, to the sell-out Sunday brunch.  It is always a weekend to remember.

“We are so excited to host our 6th VegFest,” says VegRehoboth President Tara Sheldon.  “It’s so gratifying to see old friends and welcome new friends to VegFest.  There is so much goodness packed in to the weekend:  we educate, inspire, and entertain.  We hope everyone walks away with more awareness of healthier options and with more knowledge about the benefits of a plant-based diet on our health, on the environment, and of course, for the animals.  Come join us!”

VegFest is a signature event of VegRehoboth, one of Delaware’s largest plant-based eating organizations.  VegRehoboth sponsors many activities throughout the year, including a book club, 3rd Friday Happy Hours, vegan dinners, and the monthly brunch held on 1st Saturdays at Fork and Flask at Nage.  VegRehoboth’s other signature event, ThanksLiving, held the Sunday before Thanksgiving, raised over $600 thanks to the generous donation from a(muse), grandpa MAC, and Fork and Flask at Nage.

VegRehoboth can be found on both Facebook and MeetUp and is sponsored by CAMP Rehoboth, Sussex YMCA, a(muse), grandpa MAC, and Fork and Flask at Nage.  Sponsors and Exhibitors and encouraged to register online now!
